Olympic Park exhibition is in town!

The Olympic exhibition presenting the model of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park has just arrived in Warsaw and The British School were privillaged to be umongst the first to see it.

The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is a sport and entertainment complex set on 2.5 square kilometres of green area in East London. The site has been rescued from industrial decline and waste, and regenerated for the London 2012 Olympics. The Olympic Park features the Stadium, Velodrome and Aquatics Centre which will host major olympic events. The place has been designed as a welcoming festival area with riverside gardens, markets, events, cafes and bars.

This road-show Olympic exhibition travels around Europe to increase awareness of opportunities to visit and invest in the UK, as well as to promote UK companies and the London 2012 Olympics. It highlights the innovation involved in the Park's development, and explains what opportunities exist to be a part of creating the Park’s long term success.

On Thursday 16th February, The British School Warsaw hosted the Olympic exhibition. This was a great opportunity for our students to be involved in. We are also very grateful to Martin Oxley and Iain Stewart  from the British Embassy who delivered a talk to our year 13 Economics student.

The Olympic exhibition is currently on display at the British Embassy. It will be a highlight of the Embassy’s top events: Tech City Seminar (Feb 21), Road Safety Seminar (Feb 24) as well as the British Council Day (Feb 25), which will see teachers and students from every corner of Poland coming to the Embassy to see the exhibition and learn about the work of the British Embassy. The event will mark the launch of the British Council’s website devoted to the London 2012 Olympics. The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park model exhibition will also feature at the ‘Fall in Love with London Olympics’ cocktail party at the Residence and the ‘Celebrating Olympics’ meeting for Embassy staff.
