Collège Alpin Beau Soleil is one of the oldest private schools in Switzerland and provides its students with a comprehensive education – intellectual, physical, emotional and social – in order to develop their critical awareness and an appreciation of personal effort and self-discipline
Founded by the de Meyer family in 1910, the values of the school have remained unchanged; act responsibly, behave with respect, be ambitious and develop a sense of effort. These values are part of the daily life at Collège Alpin Beau Soleil and are evident in the academic sphere, the arts, sport and school expeditions.
The Collège Alpin Beau Soleil curriculum offers a wide range of opportunities for every student to find and develop their strengths during their time at the school. Students are constantly exposed to new challenges. These may be academic, physical, creative, social or humanitarian, in order that all students develop into harmonious, well-rounded individuals.
Two distinct, parallel systems are offered: a French Section and an International Section. The classes in the French Section extend from 6ème to Terminale, and prepare students for the official French government examinations - the Diplôme National du Brevet at the end of 3ème and the French Baccalaureate (series L, ES and S) at the end of Terminale. The classes in the International Section extend from 6th Grade to 12th Grade, and prepare students for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) at the end of 10th Grade and the International Baccalaureate (IB) and High School Diploma at the end of 12th Grade. Subjects other than languages are taught in English.
