AGM Statement

Nord Anglia Education ('the Company') is a leading provider of education, training and childcare, with three operating divisions: International Schools, Learning Services and Nurseries. At today's Annual General Meeting, Alan Kelsey, Chairman, will make the following comments:

'Nord Anglia's strategy is to drive international expansion whilst ensuring a healthy UK base for its operations.

'In our International Schools division the Company expects to establish new pre-school facilities in Korea (March) and in China (September) and a new secondary school in Singapore (September), with the Company's growing international reputation in the market helping to secure strong Head Teachers for each of the new schools. In addition, we are adding capacity at several of our existing locations in China and Europe, which is due to come on-stream in September.  In the year to date, pupil registrations in this division are in line with our expectations

'On 17 January 2007, it was announced that the Metrix Consortium, of which Nord Anglia's Learning Services Division is a member, had been awarded preferred bidder status for the Package One contract and provisional preferred bidder for the Package Two contract under the Government's Defence Training Review rationalisation programme. We are delighted with this announcement from the Secretary of State and look forward to working towards the Financial Close stage of this project over the next eighteen months.

'Our Learning Services division has also made further progress in the Middle East with the successful commencement of our contract in Abu Dhabi and has signed an - initially small - schools improvement consultancy contract with a private organisation in Saudi Arabia.

'The Nursery Division now constitutes 88 nurseries following the disposal of five leasehold sites this month. There has been a slight improvement in nursery occupancy during the course of this year; in January the level was 55.4%, 2.5% less than last year.

'Overall the performance in the year to date has been as we had anticipated and the outlook for the year as a whole is in line with market expectations.'
