Nord Anglia Education is a leading provider of education, training and childcare with three distinct operating divisions – International Schools, Learning Services and Nurseries
HIGHLIGHTSGroup - Turnover up 13% to £55.4m (2006: £48.8m) and operating profit rose 65% to £2.5m (2006: £1.5m).
- New banking facilities totalling £55m agreed in principle.
International Schools - Rapid growth, led by our schools in China, enabled turnover to rise 36% to £13.6m (2006: £10.0m) and operating profit to increase by 72% to £3.2m (2006: £1.9m).
- Pupil FTEs increased by 30% to over 3,000.
Learning Services - Turnover grew by 28% to £19.7m (2006: £15.4m) and operating profit increased by 33% to £3.4m (2006: £2.6m).
- Substantial new contracts awarded in both the UK and Overseas.
Nurseries - The division generated turnover of £22.0m (2006: £23.4m) and made an operating loss of £0.6m (2006: £0.1m profit).
- Occupancy levels currently are ahead of the same period last year for the first time since the Leapfrog and Jigsaw acquisitions were made.
Alan Kelsey, Chairman of Nord Anglia, comments: “The performance of the International Schools and Learning Services divisions in the first half of the year is encouraging and we currently expect earnings for the full year to be broadly in line with expectations. We look forward to the next year with confidence.”
