38441 Nord Anglia Education PLC ("Nord Anglia"), the education, training and childcare company (LSE: NAE), announces that the Company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dubai-based ETA Star Schools ("ETA", part of the ETA Ascon Group) to launch the first Star British School in the United Arab Emirates.

The school, which will provide high quality education to 520 children from the expatriate and local communities, will open in September 2005. A second school is scheduled for launch in 2006 and a third in 2007. Nord Anglia will operate as a managing agent for the school and, as such, will receive a percentage of turnover as a royalty fee. ETA will provide the infrastructure and funding.

S. M Salahuddin, Managing Director of ETA Ascon and Star Group, said: "We believe that tomorrow´s engineers, doctors or any other professionals need a sound foundation during their formative years. Our endeavour through Star British School is to provide a solid background to children at grass root level and groom them to be the leaders of tomorrow."

A Fitzmaurice, Chief Executive Officer of Nord Anglia, said: "We selected UAE because of its thriving economy and the expertise of ETA, one of the leading business houses in the region. I am delighted to bring the expertise of Nord Anglia to the UAE and lead the education sector to even greater heights. We hope the Star British School will be the first of many such schools in the region."
