Preliminary Results for the year ended 31 August 2006

Nord Anglia Education is a leading provider of education, training and childcare with three distinct operating divisions - International Schools, Learning Services and Nurseries.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Record operating profits from continuing operations (adjusted for goodwill impairment and exceptional items) of £9.0m, an increase of 29%
  • Profit before tax on continuing operations (adjusted for goodwill impairment and exceptional items) increases by 56% to £5.8m
  • Adjusted attributable earnings per share increased by 67% to 13.43p (2005: 8.04p)
  • Outstanding performance in International Schools division with operating profit up by 133% on a like-for-like basis
  • International Schools pupil numbers increase from 2,200 to 3,000
  • Major strategic Learning Services contract wins in UK and overseas
  • Strong Learning Services and International Schools pipeline in place
  • Net debt reduced from £44.2m to £21.6m
