When I grow up I want to be….

The British International School Invites You To The Annual Careers Conference

One of the biggest cross roads you face in life is choosing the right career. For those young people living outside of their homelands the challenge can become harder as the usual source of inspiration, like family and extended networks, may not exist.  At The British International School Budapest, we are fully aware of the importance of getting these first steps right, for every young person, and this is why we open our doors to all at our annual Careers Conference.

To enrich and broaden the horizons of participants, the school has worked hard to co-ordinate a well rounded spectrum of career options to give young people a diverse platform of choice at this important time of their life. We understand that individuals have different talents, personal attributes and interests and we have invited a diverse range of career representatives and universities in order to motivate students, while raising their aspirations.

It is difficult for students to know what careers exist, and equally for parents to advise on careers, as society and the job market evolves. Through the Careers Conference we aim to give students and parents the tools to start an open dialogue about their future options.

Chris Wilcox, Head of Secondary

Building on the success of last year’s event, which was well received from participants outside of The British International School Budapest, we will once more be opening our doors to all International Schools, English Medium institutions and to those who have an interest.

The evening will be in English and will include an exhibition of Higher Education Institutes including The International Business School, Corvinus, The Central European University, Elte and Semmelweis. Along with the exhibition there will be a range of talks, with question and answer opportunities, from a host of different career areas, such as architecture, teaching, journalism, engineering, financial management, media, business management and diplomacy.

Participants will be able to build a tailor made timetable from the schedule to meet their personal needs. We hope the event will be a stepping stone in the right direction for all those who attend.

The event will take on Thursday 11th February, 6:30-9:30pm, at The British International School Budapest. For further details and to register your interest, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or telephone +36 1 200 8488.
