STEM Advisory Forum

In 2008 we were awarded the three year STEM Advisory Forum contract by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF). The forum is an important part of the Government’s STEM agenda to increase skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), in order to make the UK a world-leader in science-based research and development.

The purpose of the STEM forum is to provide the opportunity for all those interested in STEM education to contribute their views on the STEM agenda and policy through an online portal and organised events. The views expressed are then used to help shape the DCSF and the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS) thinking in taking forward the Government's STEM agenda.

We are raising the profile of the forum and communicating the new and exciting features of the portal to our target audiences, through more proactive marketing and advertising.
Since project implementation, we have achieved a number of successes including re-launching the website which received praise for both design and content, stimulating online discussion of a number of key topics including the new Science Diploma, planning high profile events and summarising concerns and discussion threads for the DCSF.
