What is the Parent Advisory Committee?
The school has always sought close relationships with parents. It aspires to be welcoming and open in its approach, believing as it does that successful education depends upon cooperation between school and the home. It now wishes to formalize and deepen that relationship in order to draw on the wide expertise among the parents and to ensure that the provision made is clearly aligned as possible to the aspirations of the clients.
The fiduciary body for the school is the Board of Nord Anglia Education and the immediate responsibility for governance resides with the Regional Director. While the Company cannot share this responsibility, it wishes to take every opportunity to call on the detailed, informed and committed advice of parents though the PAC, PTA and other established school groups. When possible, it will act on this advice; when it is unable to do so, it will say why.
Through the newly established PAC, the school and the Company wish to receive regular parental perspective on the progress the school is making and of the quality of education provided; this will contribute to the self-evaluation which all NAE schools maintain. As an example of the duties of the PAC, important changes, such as the school’s response to changes in the English National Curriculum, will be submitted to the Council for comment. In broad terms, it will act as a critical friend and council to the school.
The following parents are current members of the PAC:
