Y7 trip to Vienna
Learning a new language is always a challenge. Lots of grammar, vocabulary, new pronunciation and spelling.
In order to know the more pleasant side of German language we offer our whole Year 7 a trip to Vienna. On
the 15th May all Year 7 students of German will attend a cultural trip to our closest neighbouring capital –
Vienna. We will be leaving school at the beginning of our school day by bus, taking a walking guided tour by
excellent local guides during which the students will be provided with information about local culture, history
and attractions. Students will be given special tasks such as worksheets and very challenging activity –
ordering a typical cake/meal and drinks in a traditional Viennese cafe while practising their German. The
students will be always accompanied by our BISB teachers and walk in groups.

Family Fun Day
This will be an event organised for all families and staff of
BISB to come along and have a great day with family and
friends old and new. There will be lots of entertainment
and food throughout the day for all ages.
HOW CAN PARENTS HELP?
We would like to ask parents to help with the event in two ways.
1. PA are organising Grade Baskets; these baskets will have a theme and we want to ask parents to contribute
one new item to the basket and these baskets will then be raffled.
2. On the day of the event we would like to ask every family to bring some food that will then go towards a
lunch for everyone.
Your class representative will contact you with further details. There will be tickets for sale closer
Sunday 20th May 2012
BISB Family Walking Club (Zelezna Studienka)
Our next walk will take us along the beautiful Zelezna Studienka Valley. Once again, all are welcome to join us.
This is a club for parents and children to enjoy together and parents will be responsible for their children at all
times.
Sunday 20th May
Meet at the Patronka bus stop – direction out of town. We will take the number 43 bus up the valley
departing 10:10
From there, we will walk back along the valley path, past the lakes, stopping for snacks at ‘the Goats
House’ (goats unfortunately no longer there but there is a café) and continuing on to the adventure
playground at Partizanska Luka.
Patronka is a large bus stop and many buses go to and from there to all parts of town – please see
Sarah Keys for details.
This is an easy walk suitable for all ages and for pushchairs.
If you have any questions please come and find me at Peknikova or email Sarah Keys at skeys@bisb.sk
