GovernanceThe British School of Beijing is a British-run organisation established to provide the highest quality of British education to the expatriate community in Beijing. The school is governed by a Parent Advisory Board appointed from within the parent body with representation from the British Embassy. The board works in conjunction with the Executive Principal to ensure that we continue to be the first choice for families in Beijing. This is achieved by consistent and rigorous monitoring of both our curricular and co-curricular standards. Parental feedback is always valued, and welcomed. We are part of the Nord Anglia Education group, a British organisation founded in 1972 specialising solely in education. Nord Anglia Education provides schools inspection services to the British Government and works with governments around the world to improve educational standards. Being part of the UK’s largest provider of education services also means that we are able to offer our teachers enhanced training and development opportunities though our cooperation with the National College of School Leadership. As well as being inspected by Nord Anglia’s own team of UK government trained OFSTED (Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills) inspectors we are also inspected by ISI (Independent Schools Inspectorate), a wholly independent body. We are a founder member of EAABIS (East Asian Association of British International Schools), and a full member of COBIS (Council of British International Schools). The school is registered at the Qualification and Curriculum Authority in the UK and is fully licensed by the Chinese Ministry of Education.
