The first few days at any new school can be challenging as well as exciting. We do lots of things to make starting with us as smooth as possible. Starting a new school doesn't have to be a daunting experience for pupils or parents. Once a new student arrives at school, the whole community is involved in welcoming them and their family in a variety of ways. We operate a buddy system, and our existing students take on the responsibility for showing new ‘recruits’ the ropes and helping them integrate into our community. Class parents also play a key role in welcoming new families, while our Parent Association organises regular events to provide families with an opportunity to mix informally, have fun and support worthwhile causes. We hope that your move to Beijing and the The British School will be a smooth one. The most important thing to remember is: if you do run into a problem, please don’t feel you have to fix it on your own. There are plenty of people to turn to who would love to help. Read more about your first day at our Primary School. On the first day of school all new students are assigned a 'buddy' to help them find the right classrooms or to answer any questions.
